Getting Started
Your first day with Gleo
An opinionated, time-boxed checklist a new facilitator can blast through in one focused afternoon.
This guide is the fastest way to get productive with Gleo.
Follow the steps below and you'll finish with your profile configured, integrations connected, a session published, and a playbook ready to run.
Choose your path
Most people start with one of two goals:
I have a session coming up
Complete steps 1–4, then step 7. You can explore playbook design later.
I want to build a reusable playbook
Complete all seven steps.
Set up Brand Centre early
A few minutes spent setting your theme now saves time later.
Day 1 checklist
- Getting started
-
1
Set up your profile ~5 min
Add your name and avatar, take a quick tour of the sidebar, and open the command palette with ⌘K (or Ctrl+K). You'll use it constantly.
-
2
Connect Calendar and Forge ~10 min
Connect your calendar so meetings, agendas, and follow-up stay in sync. Connect Forge to access organisations, branding, and workspace features.
-
3
Set up your default theme ~15 min
Add your logo, colours, and fonts in Brand Centre. New playbooks and sessions will automatically inherit these settings.
- Path A · Run a session
-
4
Create your first session ~15 min
Create a session, define a goal, add a simple agenda, attach some pre-work, and publish it. This is the quickest way to experience the core Gleo workflow.
- Path B · Build a playbook
-
5
Design a draft playbook ~30 min
Open Playbook Studio, create a template, add a few phases and sessions, and sketch out the goals. Focus on learning the workflow rather than creating something perfect.
-
6
Publish and create a playbook ~5 min
Publish your template, then create a playbook from it. Add a team, set dates, and review the generated sessions.
- Work with others
-
7
Invite teammates and run something real Variable
Invite colleagues, add them to your playbook or session, and run a real piece of work. That's when everything starts to click.
One thing not to skip
Set up Brand Centre before you start publishing. Your theme flows through sessions, participant communications, and public-facing experiences. Setting it once up front is much easier than revisiting everything later.
By the end of Day 1
You should have:
- A completed profile.
- Calendar and Forge connected.
- A default theme configured.
- At least one published session or playbook.
- At least one teammate invited.
Once you've done those things, you're ready to focus on how you want to work rather than how the platform is configured.
