Forge — organisation sync
Connect Forge to power identity, multi-organisation context, and the Tech Accelerators that surround your Gleo playbooks.
Forge is Beach's full-stack build platform. It hosts your customer workspace, manages identity (sign-in, SSO, MFA), and powers the Tech Accelerators — dashboards, surveys, research tools, product pages, docs sites, and SaaS tools — that surround and amplify your Gleo playbooks. Connecting Forge from Gleo's Integrations page is what links your Gleo account to that wider workspace and surfaces the organisations you can switch between.
If you want the broader picture of where Gleo sits inside the Beach toolkit, Profile setup frames the boundary in plain language. This page is the operational reference for the Forge connection itself.
What connecting Forge unlocks
Identity & sign-in
Your Gleo email becomes managed by Forge — owned in one place, used everywhere across the Beach product family.
Organisation switcher
If you belong to more than one workspace, the switcher appears in the top-left of the Gleo sidebar and lets you jump between them.
Brand Centre
The Brand Centre user-menu entry appears once you're connected to a Forge organisation — themes are an org-level concept.
Tech Accelerators
Dashboards, surveys, research tools and other accelerators built in Forge become visible alongside your playbooks.
Walkthrough
-
1
Connect Forge ~2 min
Sidebar → Integrations → Forge → Connect. You'll be redirected to Forge to authorise; once approved, you land back on the integrations page.
-
2
Sync your Forge organisations ~30 sec
Click Sync organisations. Gleo pulls the workspaces you have access to in Forge and surfaces them in the organisation switcher in the sidebar's top-left corner.
-
3
Switch between organisations
Open the organisation switcher and choose a different workspace. Gleo re-scopes everything — Sessions, Playbooks, Templates, Artefacts — to that org and lands you on its Home dashboard.
-

Re-sync when something changes
If you join a new Forge workspace and don't see it in the switcher, click Sync organisations again. Org membership is owned in Forge; Gleo pulls the latest list on demand.
What happens when you switch organisations
Switching is a deliberate, page-level event — not a quiet re-scoping. When you switch:
- Gleo refetches your user context for the new organisation (your role, permissions, available templates).
- All org-scoped caches are cleared so you don't see stale data from the previous workspace.
- You're navigated to the new org's Home dashboard.
This is intentional. Mixing data across organisations would be confusing and unsafe (and, for some teams, a compliance risk). The clean re-scope is the safest default.
The one thing you can't do from Gleo
Forge is the only integration that can't be disconnected from Gleo's UI. Because Forge owns your identity, removing the connection from inside Gleo would log you out and orphan your account. To manage the Forge link itself — disconnect, change which Forge account is linked, or revoke an organisation's access — head into Forge directly.
In practice, this affects very few people: most users connect Forge once and leave it connected for the lifetime of their workspace.
What lives in Gleo vs what lives in Forge
A reminder of the boundary, since it's the question that comes up most often:
| What you do | Where you do it |
|---|---|
| Edit your name, avatar, in-app preferences | Gleo (Profile) |
| Change your email or password | Forge |
| Configure SSO and MFA | Forge |
| Invite a colleague to your workspace | Forge |
| Add a colleague to a specific Playbook or session | Gleo (Team / Participants tabs) |
| Set up a Tech Accelerator (dashboard, survey, research tool, etc.) | Forge |
| Configure your Brand Centre theme | Gleo |
| Connect Cronofy / Mural / Zoom | Gleo |

Tips & pitfalls
Connect Forge even if you only have one organisation. The switcher is the most visible benefit, but Brand Centre access and the Tech Accelerator surface need a Forge connection too.
If a colleague says they can't see your workspace, check Forge first. They need to be a member of your Forge organisation before they can sign into Gleo and see your shared work. Per-playbook role assignment in Gleo comes after Forge membership.
