Designing in Playbook Studio

Studio overview

Orient the Studio hub — the template list, statuses, and how to start a new template.

Playbook Studio is where you create and manage the templates that power your playbooks.

Nothing in Studio is live with participants. It's where you design reusable processes, including phases, sessions, pre-work, agendas, and guidance that can be used again and again.

The Studio hub (/playbook-studio) is your starting point. From here you can browse existing templates or create a new one.

What you'll find here

Status

Visibility

Status and visibility

Status and visibility control different things.

What it controls Values
Status Whether the template is ready to use. Draft, Published
Visibility Who can access the template. Private, Company, Public

Examples:

  • Draft + Private → still being designed.
  • Published + Company → available across your organisation.
  • Published + Public → available through the Marketplace.

For more detail, see Drafts vs Publishing and Visibility and sharing.

Drafts stay private. Until a template is published, only you and any collaborators you've invited can see it.

Keep your draft list manageable. Most teams maintain a small number of active drafts alongside a library of published templates.

Templates and playbooks are different things. Templates live in Playbook Studio. Running work lives in Active Playbooks.
