Profile setup
What you control on your profile, and the role Forge plays as the build platform that hosts your workspace and powers your accelerators.
Your profile is where you manage your personal details in Gleo.
It's also where you'll encounter an important distinction: Gleo and Forge manage different parts of your account. Understanding that boundary makes it much easier to know where to make changes.
Gleo and Forge
Gleo runs on top of Forge.
Gleo is where you design and run playbooks. Forge manages your identity, organisation, workspace, and other Beach products.
Gleo
Your profile details, preferences, playbooks, sessions, pre-work, and artefacts.
Forge
Identity, sign-in, organisation membership, workspace administration, and Tech Accelerators.
Because Forge manages identity, your email address is read-only inside Gleo. Update it in Forge and the change is reflected everywhere you use Beach products.
Simple rule: if you're changing your personal profile inside Gleo, do it here. If you're changing account, organisation, or workspace settings, you'll usually do that in Forge.
What is Forge?
Forge is Beach's workspace and application platform.
It manages organisations, user accounts, authentication, permissions, and workspace administration. It also lets teams build and manage Tech Accelerators such as dashboards, surveys, research tools, documentation sites, and internal applications.
Most users only visit Forge occasionally. Most day-to-day work happens inside Gleo.
Editing your profile
Open the user menu in the sidebar and select Profile.

Change your name
- Open User menu → Profile.
- Update your first name or last name.
- Click Save.
Change your avatar
If no image is uploaded, Gleo generates an avatar using your initials.
Upload an image from the Profile page and it will automatically appear throughout the platform.
Change your email or password
Email addresses and passwords are managed by Forge.
Use the link next to the email field, or visit Forge directly.
Workspace administration
If you're responsible for managing your organisation, most administrative tasks happen in Forge.
In Forge
- Invite and remove workspace members.
- Manage organisation administrators.
- Configure SSO and MFA.
- Manage workspace settings.
- Build and manage Tech Accelerators.
In Gleo
- Manage Brand Centre themes and branding.
- Configure Gleo-specific integrations.
- Manage Gleo-specific settings and preferences.
A useful rule of thumb:
Gleo is where teams run playbooks. Forge is where organisations manage their workspace.
Tips
Can't edit your email? That's expected. Email addresses are managed by Forge.
Can't find Brand Centre? It only appears when you're connected to a Forge organisation.
