Keyboard shortcuts cheat sheet
Every keyboard shortcut Gleo supports, in one printable look-up — plus when each one is and isn't active.
Gleo's keyboard surface is deliberately small — a few high-leverage shortcuts you'll use every day, plus the standard form-and-modal keys you already know. This page is the canonical look-up. Keep it open in a tab while you're learning the product, then forget it and trust your hands.
Mac users: ⌘ = Command. Windows / Linux users: substitute Ctrl for ⌘ throughout.
Global shortcuts
These work from anywhere in the product.
| Shortcut | Action | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| ⌘K | Open the command palette | The "do anything" surface. See Command palette. |
| Esc | Close any open modal, drawer, or palette | Standard. |
| Tab / Shift+Tab | Move focus between form fields and controls | Standard. |
| Enter | Submit forms; activate the focused control | Standard. |
Command palette shortcuts
Once the palette is open (⌘K):
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Type | Live-filter the action list. |
| ↑ / ↓ | Move the highlight up and down through the filtered list. |
| Enter | Run the highlighted action. |
| Esc | Close the palette without running anything. |
Playbook Studio canvas shortcuts
Active when you're working on the visual canvas in Playbook Studio — and your focus isn't inside a text input.
| Shortcut | Action | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| G | Add a goal sticky to the selected session | The single most-used canvas shortcut. See the gotcha below. |
| Click + drag | Reposition phases and sessions on the canvas | Mouse / trackpad, not strictly a keyboard shortcut. |
The G hotkey only fires when you have a session selected and your cursor focus is not in a text input. If you press G while editing a session title or description, you'll just type the letter "G". Click outside the input first, then press G. See Goals and the G hotkey for the full pattern.
Runtime session shortcuts
Active during a live session in the Session planner.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Esc | Close the active drawer (Tools, Tasks, Questions, Artefacts, Notes). |
| Tab | Move between agenda items in the planner. |
| Standard form shortcuts | Within Notes, the question composer, and any inline editor. |
Standard form shortcuts
These behave the way you'd expect them to in any web app — they're listed here so you don't have to wonder.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Tab | Next field. |
| Shift+Tab | Previous field. |
| Enter | Submit / confirm. |
| Esc | Cancel / close. |
| ⌘+A | Select all (within the focused field). |
| ⌘+Z / ⌘+Shift+Z | Undo / redo (within an editor). |
A note on context
Gleo's shortcut surface is intentionally context-scoped rather than global. The G hotkey only does anything in the Studio canvas; the palette's playbook-scoped actions only appear when you're inside a playbook. This keeps the shortcut model small and predictable — you don't need to memorise different bindings for different surfaces — but it does mean a key that does nothing in one place may do something elsewhere.
If a shortcut isn't working, the most likely reason is that you're either (a) in a text input, or (b) on a surface where that shortcut isn't defined.
Tips & pitfalls
Print this page. The shortest path to muscle memory is having the cheat sheet open while you work. After a week or two, you won't need it.
Click outside an input before pressing a single-letter shortcut. Single-letter shortcuts (currently just G, but more will come) are silently swallowed by text inputs. The fix is always the same: click on the canvas background, then press the key.
When in doubt, reach for ⌘K. The palette is the "I forgot the shortcut" answer for almost everything else. Type what you want; let it find the action.
