Running Active Playbooks
Questions tab
Capture every open question that surfaces during the playbook, answer them collaboratively with reactions, then export the whole Q&A as a deliverable.
Engagements generate questions. Things that came up in prep that need a wider answer; things a participant raised in a session that the team needs to come back to; things AI flagged from a transcript that nobody's resolved yet.
The Questions tab is the playbook-scoped Q&A surface — every open question for the engagement in one place, with answers, reactions, tags, and exports for when the Q&A itself is the deliverable.
What lives on this tab
- Questions — captured from sessions, prep responses, AI analysis, or added by hand.
- Answers — one or more responses per question, with attribution.
- Answer reactions — emoji thumbs that participants and team members use to signal agreement or relevance.
- Tags — categorical labels (theme, owner, priority) for filtering and grouping.
Click any question to open it; add answers, react to existing answers, attach tags.
Two views
Split view
Question list on the left, selected question's detail on the right. Best for working through the list one item at a time.
Document view
All questions and answers rendered as a flowing document — closer to what the export will look like. Best for reviewing the whole picture or sharing the screen with the team.
The view toggle sits in the top-right; pick the one that suits the moment.
Filters
The filter bar lets you narrow what's visible on either view:
| Filter | Useful for |
|---|---|
| Source | Questions from a specific session, from prep, or AI-generated. |
| Priority | High-priority questions first; lower-priority ones during cleanup. |
| Status | Open / answered / archived. |
| Tag | Anything you've tagged for grouping. |
Filters compose, so a query like "open, high-priority questions tagged 'pricing'" is a three-filter set away.
Answering and reacting
Open any question to see its current answers. To answer:
- Click Add answer. Type. Attribute is automatic.
- An existing answer? Click the emoji affordance to react. Click again to remove your reaction.
Reactions aggregate — if four people 👍 the same answer, the count shows once with the total. Use them as the lightweight signal for "this is the right answer" or "this is the most useful one" without forcing the team into a formal discussion.
Tags
Click the tag picker on any question to apply tags. Tags scope to the playbook (and surface in the filter bar). Use them for any cross-cutting axis you'll want to filter on later — theme, owner, priority, workstream.
Tags are shared across the team — a tag you create is one anyone can apply to other questions. Keep names short and lowercase by convention.
Exporting
When the Q&A is the deliverable — a research read-out, a strategic Q&A doc, a customer-facing FAQ — the export gives you a clean handoff:
| Format | Best for |
|---|---|
| Markdown | Further editing in any markdown editor; pasting into wikis or docs that support it. |
| Text | Plain-text use; pasting into channels or systems that don't render markup. |
| DOCX | Sharing as a Word document; clients and stakeholders who want a formatted file. |
Export reflects the current filter — so you can export "open, high-priority, tagged 'pricing'" and get just that subset in the file.
DOCX preserves formatting; Markdown is best for further editing. If the export is a final deliverable, take DOCX — it'll open cleanly in Word and Google Docs with headings, bullets, and emphasis intact. If you're going to keep editing it, Markdown is more durable and easier to diff.
Walkthrough
-
1
Open the Questions tab
Inside a playbook, switch to Questions. The split view opens by default with the first question selected.
-
2
Try document view
Toggle to document view. You'll see the same questions and answers rendered as a flowing read. Useful for reviewing the whole picture.
-
3
Add a question
Click New question. Type the question; submit. It joins the list.
-
4
Answer and react
Open the question. Add an answer. As another team member, react to it with an emoji. Both the answer and the reaction become visible to everyone who can see the playbook.
-
5
Tag a question
Apply a tag — by theme, owner, or priority. Filter by that tag to see the cross-cutting picture.
-
6
Export
From the export menu, pick a format. Markdown for further editing, Text for plain pasting, DOCX for a formatted deliverable. The current filter applies.
Tips & pitfalls
Use the Questions tab as a parking lot for the live session. The single most useful pattern: when a question comes up mid-session that the team can't answer right now, capture it here. The session keeps moving; the question doesn't get lost.
Reactions are signal, not just decoration. A 👍 on an answer from three other team members tells you it's the right one. A 🤔 tells you it's contested. Use the reactions to converge without needing a meeting about every question.
Filter, then export. The export reflects what's filtered. If you want a clean handoff of just the high-priority questions, filter first; export second.
